This notice explains the information Jalapeno handles when you browse or manage a shop account.
Information we collect
If you sign up for deal notifications, we collect your email address and consent through Netlify Forms. We use it only to contact you about Jalapeno deals when notifications are available; no shop account is needed. You can ask to be removed through our contact page. For shop accounts we collect your login email, business name and logo, legal and billing details, listings, click budgets and account activity. Outbound deal visits produce a timestamp, deal identifier, broad source and placement, any attributed creator club, user-agent signals and a keyed hash derived from the network address and browser signature for repeat-visit checks. We do not put a raw IP address in the stored fingerprint.
What we use it for
We use these details to run accounts and listings, review products, count and filter billable clicks, prepare invoices and prevent abuse. Firebase provides authentication, database, functions and file storage; Netlify hosts the site. A deal click sends you to the shop's own site, which has its own privacy practices.
Access, retention and your choices
Shop billing details are available to the account holder and site admins. Public listings display the shop brand and logo, product information and destination. Click event and fingerprint records are marked for deletion after 120 days; daily aggregate reports and billing records are kept for reporting and invoice records. Use our contact page to request access or correction, ask about retention.
Your customer account
My Jalapeno stores your account email, saved deals and followed brands so you can access them across devices. Your saved list and follows are private to your account. You can remove saved deals or unfollow brands in My Jalapeno. Saving a deal or following a brand does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Personalised deal suggestions
For You uses your saved deals, followed brands and followed clubs. When you are signed in, we also remember up to 100 recent product clicks in your browser for 30 days to suggest relevant categories. This browser history is kept separately for each account, is not uploaded to your account, and can be cleared from the For You tab. Signing out stops this personalisation. Saving or following does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
